Bronzeback
Wind Project
The Perfect Fit For Indiana’s Economy
The Bronzeback wind project is a proposed wind energy project that will create a local revenue source and economic growth for Benton County, Indiana. The project will bring 200-megawatts of clean energy and is designed to integrate within existing farms and ranches, adding resiliency to the Indiana energy system. Intending to become operational by 2027, Bronzeback Wind will generate enough affordable, clean energy to power about 90,000 homes each year.
When constructed, the project will create millions of dollars in new tax revenue and long-term economic opportunities which will support the entire community. Hundreds of construction jobs, several long-term operations jobs, and a new steady revenue stream means a brighter future for all of Benton County.
The project is managed by Steelhead Americas, the North American development arm of Vestas, the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturer and leading wind project service provider. Across the country and the State of Indiana, Steelhead works collaboratively with landowners, communities, and partners to deliver responsible and beneficial wind projects.

Community Health
Wind farms are a safe and effective means of generating electricity, and we ensure that clean power is delivered diligently through proper siting, construction, and management practices.
Environment
Compared to other forms of energy production, wind farms have among the fewest environmental impacts. We conduct studies and work with local agencies to site projects in a way that minimizes impacts to wildlife & the environment.
Property Value
According to multiple peer-reviewed studies that span the USA, wind projects have no significant long-term impact on property values.
Decommissioning
Bronzeback Wind will provide reliable energy for approximately 25-30 years. At the end of a project’s life, turbines are removed safely, responsibly, and sustainably, and the impacted land is restored to its former state.
Financial Impact
Bronzeback Wind will bring hundreds of construction jobs & long-term jobs, as well as millions of dollars in community funding and local revenue.
